Photo practice – Covent Garden

15 Jan

Today I met with my friend Donald who is teaching me how to use my camera properly.  We wandered around Covent Garden and we focussed on the shutter-priority setting, particularly the different ways to capture motion.  Afterwards I strolled around to Mayfair and then through China Town back to Covent Garden before heading home.  These are some of the photos of the day (though next time I think I need to look for more colour).

I am focusing on technique so I don’t think I am getting the greatest photos but it is all a learning experience.  I think two of the important skills that I need to practice along with actually taking photos is the patience to carry on trying things and bravery to actually go up to strangers and ask them if I can take their picture.  Donald has given me the task of taking pictures in motion so going with my theme of song titles I thought I would go with Ingrid Michaelson’s Are we there yet? I’ll let you know how it goes.

Here is your chance to say something lovely or interesting or wise. Please do, I love hearing from you.
