Happy Mondays

14 Nov

I have been crocheting up a storm and loving it.

After only a week I finished my snood, okay technically two because the first week I discovered that I had been dropping a stitch every row and had to pull the whole thing out and start again.  But then it only took two weeks.  I really, really love it and think it is going to get worn out this winter.

I then crocheted a new phone cover for …

A new iphone which I have liberated from my friend until I get a job and can afford one of my own.  So cool, except I can’t use all the bells and whistles ’cause it charges me £1 everyday. Oh well at least I know it is there if I need it but sadly no tweeting on the run for me.

I have been in such a crochet frenzy I also made a second iphone cover for said friend and a shorter snood for a friend.  I’ll show pictures of those later.

If you are interested the wools I have used:

  • The grey is Sirdar DK wash and wear crepe in silver cloud (really nice and snuggly and heavier acrylic wool, and a bit pricier).  For my snood I used two and a half balls (100g) with 50 stitches across and as long as needed to wrap around twice.
  • The pink is Cygnet DK in soft coral, there is a charity shop near us which sells it and it is a more budget friendly wool but light, soft and warm.

I also had two photo shoots last week which I really enjoyed, the photos will be up on my new photo blog MYcreative, later this week.  Taking photos is definitely something which makes me happy.

I’m getting so jealous of all these snoods and cowls that I’m seeing floating about!

Was there a particular pattern that you used for the snood? So pleased that there’s a crocheted one I can ask about because all the others have been knitted and that’s no good to me, I can’t work 2 needles!

    That snood is beautiful!

I’ve been having a look at your MYcreative site too, and I’m loving your portraits. The colours in the photos of Jessica are so vivid.

Right that’s it. I’m learning to crochet. My nana can teach me the basics, but do you have a pattern for that gorgeous snood? Is it a wildly optimistic first crochet project?
Also you look very elegant in your photo.

Love the snood! I the Sirdar yarn 100% acrylic? I’m on an endless search for good non-wool yarns x

Here is your chance to say something lovely or interesting or wise. Please do, I love hearing from you.
