Route 66

22 Jun

On the odd occasion I come across something which I just want to share instantly with anyone who will listen.  Yay for the blogosphere where I can pretend thousands of you are out there reading and sharing my enthusiasm!

I just came across Jen Zahigian via pinterest today and had to share some of her gorgeous photos which are available on Etsy.

What I love about photography is the ability it has to transport you somewhere instantaneously.   And these have me skipping out of the monsoon style summer we are having here in London and heading down Route 66 in my [hybrid] convertible with some rocking road trip tunes blasting.

I love the second one! Flamingos are ace too, they always remind me of Placido Flamingo from Sesame Street.

Really vivid colours – I’m more of a fan of muted colours usually, but you’re right, these are definitely striking, and really do convey a real atmosphere.

Looove the middle one!! It’s funny how signs become bits of art that we’re so interested in, but for the people who live in that town it’s probably just a bit of junk! You should check out the neon graveyard or something or other – it’s in Las Vegas and it’s just all the old signs and bits and bobs. xo

The middle one was also the first one I saw and made me go hunt the artist down. Great aren’t they. I think they would look so cool to add a touch of Americana diner style to a kitchen … *sighs longingly*

Here is your chance to say something lovely or interesting or wise. Please do, I love hearing from you.
